I am looking for a price check for JD 4400, MFWD, HST, mid pto with 430 Loader and 47 backhoe. I plan to use a belly mower, possible front snow blower after I get the tractor. Thanks in advance. I really enjoy this board and check it every day !

Can tell you I bought 4300 HST w/ 430 loader, mid-pto, 47 backhoe, R4 tires, AM-FM cassette, block heater, hyd. heater for 23700.00. I think the 4400 was about a grand more, fifteen hundred at most. ....

I want to purchace a 4300HST/MFWD with 430 loader & 47 backhoe. I was quoted a price just under $30k, which I think is a bit high. I'm still looking and I have a few dealers to get quotes from yet. I think RJC got a pretty good deal...is your tractor FWD? I haven't checked the price of the 4400HST/MFWD yet, but like RJC I'm assuming they're another grand or two more than the 4300. ....

Mark, I received my 4400 HST (they are all MFWD), 430 loader and 47 back hoe today. So far I am very impressed. During my "journet" I started with the 4200, then got serious about the 4300 since it is just a little bigger. Then I read the John Deere specs more closely. When I realized the 4400 is EXACTLY the same dimesionally and EXACTLY the same weight as the 4300, only difference being 3 more HP and about 9 c.i. - I decided on the 4400. Quite frankly, other than a marketing strategy, it is not real clear why they would even carry the 4300. I also had input from a dealer that the additional 3 HP is noticeable. Best regards, Bob ....

Bob, I did the same thing you did regarding the research and I arrived at the same conclusions as yourself. I haven't purchased the tractor yet and I'm still undecided between the 4300 or 4400. Is the extra thousand bucks worth the 3hp? I did however find a dealership willing to deal on the tractor which is saving me some money...maybe I could use the savings to buy the the extra hp. For the 4300HST/MFWD w/ 430 loader I started out with a quote of about $23500, and $6500 for the 47 backhoe. I got a quote from another dealer this weekend of $19900 and $5800 respectively. This is good as the first quote was a bit outside my budget and I really wanted this particular set-up. I should be ready to buy toward the end of this year or early 2000. Enjoy your tractor and let me know how things are going for you...I just may opt for that 4400! ....

I just ordered a 4300 HST, MFWD, R4s, 430 loader, mid pto, & frops for $18,800 from a dealer who isn't known for great deals. So, a good price should be $19k or below without a hoe. ....

Ron and Dave, your prices sound very good. I shopped around alot here in upstate NY for a 4400 HST "loaded" with 430 loader and 48 backhoe. When I subtract out and add stuff to get apples and apples your prices are within $200 of the best price I got. BTW, the highest price I was quoted was $3000 more than the lowest ($29K vs. $26K). It pays to shop around! ....
